I have always thought that Starbucks was a great company. Although I didn't enjoy working for them (making coffee wasn't my thing), I have always liked their work ethics, and their outstanding customer service. But they did something that confirmed all of that last week. It was a Monday, and I made my usual Starbucks stop on my way to work. Only, to my dismay, the drink order was wrong. Normally, this wouldn't bother me, but it did that day, because it was the 2nd time in 2 weeks that my drink order was wrong. I decided to do what I would normally NEVER do. I wrote the company a complaint. Not a bitchy complaint, a very nice "you should know about this, because $3.11 is a lot to me right now, and my Starbucks drink is a treat, and now it's wasting away because no one can drink it" complaint. I made sure that my tone was polite, and at times, comical. 4 days later, I go to my mailbox and notice a Starbucks envelope. Having forgotten my little e-mail, I wondered what could be inside - maybe it was in regards to my lost Starbucks card. To my sheer surprise, I open a letter that not only apologizes for the mishap, but includes 4 free drink certificates! Of course I was excited, but I guess I was more impressed. Not only was the response light speed, but they took care of the two drinks and tacked on two more. Thus, reaffirming my beliefs that Starbucks has got it going on! Oh, and I wrote back to the corporate offices. Except instead of checking my e-mail as a complaint, I checked it as a compliment - and let the higher ups at Starbucks know just how thankful & awed I really was. And there, my friends, is your feel good story for the week. Lucky You!!!
