Don't worry...I do too. I think one of the saddest things is the story of the little boy who had his pet dog ripped from his arms when they were loading the evacuation buses.
I think I feel guilty because the animals are utterly helpless. (I'm not saying the people aren't, it's just in a different way).

Melissa, you're not the only one. Sometimes I feel the same way too - I think if I were rescuing folks I'd probably rescue the animals before the humans... unless of course children were visible. Humans can ultimately "help themselves" children, elderly and animals cannot.
