First of all, I need to give everyone (except a choice few) a hard time for not calling us on our anniversary!!! I mean it was our first year...I can understand 2, 3 or 4. But 1!!! Let's just say both sets of parents, grandparents, and 3 friends called to wish us a wonderful day. ALL of my bridesmaids forgot - and I think ALL of Trei's groomsman forgot as well. Thanks a lot guys!!! Come on, I know I'm not the only person on this earth, but I expected more from some of you!! Thankfully, despite the lack of phone calls, Trei and I had an amazing Anniversary. I love the fact that Trei and I are so low maintenance. We just wanted to relax - nothing big or special. Just time spent with eachother.
Since I'm more than due for an update - I figured I'd start from the beginning.
Thursday: Work was normal - but the fun part came at night when Trei and I had Janet over to celebrate her 23rd birthday (or 24th, I can't remember *wink*)!!! We made a wonderful dinner, consisting of chicken, rice, and veggies. Topped off with a Dulce de Leche and Strawberry Shortcake Cakes. I love celebrating birthdays. There is nothing like it. The three of us had a great time - and as you can see from the pictures, the dogs wanted to be a part of the excitement as well. Good times.

Friday: Not really worth talking about. Worked, went to Target, tanned, came home, slept. Yeah, pretty boring.
Saturday: So much fun! I slept in until 11, which was pure heaven. It's been a long time since that's happened. Trei cleaned the kitchen, and straightened up the house while I was snoozing, which was wonderful of him - I was so excited. A little after I got out of bed, Trei called. He told me that as a gift for our anniversary I could take the check for $350 (a rebate we received a few days earlier) off the dresser and SPEND IT. So I called my girlfriend Jessica and asked if she had any plans (her boyfriend Mike was helping Trei in the backyard). I cleaned the rest of the house, showered, and around 1pm, Jessica came over. We grabbed lunch at Claim Jumper, chatted and laughed about the men in our lives. Afterwards, we headed to the mall and enjoyed hours of shopping bliss. With Labor Day sales abundant, we walked out having spent ALL our money. It was worth it though, because I came home with A LOT. The guys let us know that we had dinner reservations at The Steak House in the Hilton at 8pm, so I dropped Jessica off at home, and headed to my house to get ready for our night out. The four of us got all dressed up, and spent a few hours talking, and eating, and laughing ofcourse. It was a blast! That night, when Trei and I got home - we CRASHED. Well, Trei did atleast. He was snoring within a few seconds of falling into bed.

Sunday: ANNIVERSARY DAY!! It was totally surreal. All day I was watching the clock, and trying to remember what we were doing at that time. I'd stop and say "Right now I was getting my hair done!" or "Right now the music was starting and the bridesmaids were lining up". I was very emotional. Not to the point of crying - but just emotional. Wanting to experience everything all over again. The feelings you have on your wedding day can never be duplicated. Trei and I woke up at 9ish, and just kind of hung around the house. For lunch we went to our favorite restaurant - Black Rock Pizza for some Planet X (spinach, parmesan, asiago and tomato pizza - yum!). Just as our food was arriving, Trei's parent's arrived and ate with us. The four of us made plans to bowl at 4pm, so until then Trei and I car shopped. It was hotter than hell outside, but we had fun just looking around and dodging those pesky salesman. At 4, we met up at the bowling alley for 2 hours of bowling. When we were done, the four of us headed to Silver Peak for dinner and sat outside people watching as we ate. The night weather was nice, and ofcourse, you can't beat conversation with people that you love. By the time dinner was done, we were driving back to the house to watch the wedding video, reception and hit the hay. It was wonderful. I love my husband so very much - and am proud to be his wife. He is my best friend, and I will always be thankful for our marriage. 1 year....I can hardly believe it. But it will only get better....and the two of us are anxious to see what God has in store for us.

Monday: OFCOURSE I had returns. I don't think I've ever come home from shopping and kept everything I've bought. At 9, Trei woke up to go work in the backyard. Mike was going to be joining him around 10. Meanwhile, I got ready for Janet to pick me up. The two of us headed to the mall and shopped until 5pm! I made all my returns, and re-spent the money. I came home with a bunch of new stuff and am wearing three new items today :) I LOVE NEW CLOTHES!! At 7pm, we had plans to barbecue with Mike and Jessica - so I showered and got the house ready as soon as I got home, Trei eventually came in to get ready as well. Him and Mike had already done half of the first retaining wall. It's going to look great! At 7, the four of us barbecued some steaks and chicken - ate chips and salsa - and just relaxed. Getting our socialization in before the beginning of another week. Trei and I were in bed at 8:30 - absolutely exhausted from a very busy weekend.
I can't believe it's over. But I can now look forward to our vacation - which is now only 8 days away!!!!
Well, time to go. I'll be updating again soon.
♥, Melissa
