I never understood before
I never knew what love was for
My heart was broke, my head was sore
What a feeling
Tied up in ancient history
I didnt believe in destiny
I look up you're standing next to me
What a feeling
What a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
Brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall, i don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine
And it's brighter than sunshine
I never saw it happening
I'd given up and given in
I just couldn't take the hurt again
What a feeling
I didn't have the strength to fight
Suddenly you seemed so right
Me and you
What a feeling
What a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall, I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine
It's brighter than the sun
It's brighter than the sun
It's brighter than the sun, sun, shine.
Love will remain a mystery
But give me your hand and you will see
Your heart is keeping time with me

Well, our time in Southern California is slowly coming to a close. 2 more full days until we head back into Reno and ofcourse I'm filled with mixed emotions. Part of me a ready to go back to life. Ready to see my dogs, sleep in my bed, and dare I say....work? Just the normalities of life. The other part of me isn't ready to leave my friends and family....still feeling as though I haven't fully taken advantage of spending time with them. But like they say, all good things must come to an end....and thankfully for me, I can say this vacation was wonderful!! Trei and I were spoiled by my parents, my brothers and sister took time from their lives to be with me, and my friends were very flexible with my schedule (thanks Mel!).
Oh, and Wednesday I was able to celebrate my mom's birthday with our family. It was a wonderful evening filled with a home cooked meal, yummy cake, flowers, and lots of laughs. I truly enjoyed it. Happy Birthday Mom. I love you.

Day 5 has come and gone in the blink of an eye. We still have 7 full days of vacation left, and I'm hoping the days slow down a bit. I want to cherish this time for as long as possible.
Being with my family has been amazing. I miss seeing them on a more regular basis, and look forward to the days when that is more of a reality. So far, we've had a fabulous time and I'm anticipating it to only get better.

Almost 48 hours from now, and I'll be in the company of my incredible parents. We'll be standing in Orange County, California - my favorite place in the world. I'm sure I'll be an emotional mess as I normally am. Trei has never been with me when I've gotten off the plane in California, so he has yet to experience his wife sobbing in the arms of her parents. I hope it doesn't freak him out. It's always such great feeling seeing them. I guess I just let go. As much as I feel like a strong, independent married woman...there are moments when I feel like such a kid - in need of her mom or dad. I wonder if that ever changes??
A few hours after that I will be greeted by Michael, Katy, and Kyle - which I'm sure will be just as emotional. It's been 3 1/2 months since I've seen Michael and Katy....and 1 1/2 months since I've seen Kyle. WAY too long. With them will be Melissa, whom I'm extremely excited to see as well. I feel like it will never be here - but I know that time will fly and suddenly I'll be in the presence of my family. The countdown begins.....
