Proud Mama....

Nobody warns a new mother about the immense pride she will have with her children. Well, maybe they warn, but not enough!! I have the most beautiful child in the world. I know there are other mothers reading this thinking, "Ha! I have the most beautiful child in the world!" - in which case I completely understand. From the moment of conception, God turned on a switch in our brain to seriously view our children as the grandest, most amazing and GORGEOUS people to ever walk the face of the earth. Nothing could change that - not even a threat of death. Today, Lucas took his 3 month/easter pictures here at Diana's. We brought his easter outfit over and shot away. We also brought a few changes of clothes so we could have a photo shoot after the easter pictures were done. You'll have to wait for the picture reveal (I gave you a small hint above!), I'm still trying to decide which ones to choose!! Lucas was such a wonderful little model. He was patient, sweet, and incredibly charming. I could have died watching him woo the camera. Honestly, he is precious. We spent a good 30 minutes outside in the grass positioning him and tugging at his clothes. 3 different people calling his name and trying to solicit a smile from him. He was so distracted by his surroundings that it was hard to get his attention for more than a few moments. I really love watching him take in the sights. He is so inquisitive and curious - staring  intently at anything around him that is fairly new and exciting. I'm definitely anxious to share the pictures with everyone - I'm sure most will agree that he is a darling little guy with a beautiful little face. 

Independance for the BOTH of us!

Tomorrow I have TWO interviews!! I am so nervous for some reason. Part of it is that I feel "rusty", and the other part is I have nothing to wear! Ha ha, such a girl thing. Both of them are part-time morning positions, but one of them is only 8-10 hours in-office, and 10 hours at home - so I'm really hoping I get hired for that position. I think it would be perfect for me - so we shall see! Although I don't need to work, I'm looking forward to getting out of the house and challenge my brain for a few hours each day. On top of it, a paycheck doesn't sound too bad. Just keep me in your prayers tomorrow. Trei and I have been praying that God would give us direction in terms of a possible job for me, as well as open doors in my favor. I guess we shall see! I'm going to be very picky - since I can! Both prospective bosses know that I'm a new mom with a 3 month old, and know that I will need morning hours. Trei will stay home with Lucas while I work so I won't have to hire anyone to watch him. I'm secretly looking forward to getting out for some stimulation. Don't get me wrong, I love being a mommy....but I think it will be good for me to begin this new little adventure. And honestly, worse comes to worse? I quit and go back to normal!!! It will be interesting to see how well I do juggling motherhood, being a wife, a part-time job (have I mentioned that I also baby-sit Jordan and Garrett two nights a week AND do part-time online marketing for someone in the entertainment industry??), and full-time school. In the past I've always worked well under pressure - so I anticipate being just fine. In other news, Trei, Lucas and I spent all of Monday and most of today at my parents house. We woke up Monday morning and couldn't think of anything to do - so we packed up and raided the Terranos. It was a blast. We hung out, conversed, Trei and I got to go on a *gasp* date alone, and then he and I spent sometime in my parents spa unwinding after a long day. It was GREAT. My parents are so wonderful. Always willing to take Lucas and let Trei and I get a break. I even got to sleep in this morning. My mom came for Lucas at 8am and took him for a walk while I slept. It was heavenly. Especially because Lucas is back to waking up every 3 hours at night to eat! On top of it, I can't sleep through our sessions because he's begun grunting, clawing, and nursing on both sides!!! I'm dying. I'm even thinking of starting him on some cereal to keep his tummy full and sleeping through the night. I'm not sure I can hang in there much longer. I NEED SLEEP :)

He's Laughing....

Lucas has just started laughing for long periods of time! We can usually get one stretch a day - but I have a feeling that it will only increase as he gets older. We pulled out the trusty ole' video camera the other day to capture him in all his cuteness :) He had already been entertaining us for 15 minutes, and then it dawned on us to grab the camera. You are getting the last minute of his joy.....before he wants his mommy and her high-pitched voice out of his face. Enjoy!! - Click here to watch the video.

With Sleepy Eyes, I Write.

Not much to write about, but I didn't want to let these next 20 minutes of freedom go without signing onto my blog and getting something typed. Basically, my days continue to consist of mommy stuff. Lucas turned 3 months on Sunday - and I can't believe how much time has gone by. I remember thinking that 3 months seemed like an eternity, and now it's here and I'm in shock. This past weekend Trei, Lucas and I were at my parents. We headed up Sunday morning with the intention of staying until the early evening. Only the early evening turned into 1am, 10 minutes into our car ride, we realized how little sleep we'd get if we actually made the drive home (no more sleeping in for us! Lucas is bright eyed and bushy-tailed at 8am!). Trei turned the car around and we settled back into my parents. We planned on leaving Monday morning...only Monday morning turned into Monday afternoon and right after we packed Lucas into his carseat, Trei got a call from his work saying they didn't need him that night. So we unpacked Lucas for a second time and decided to stay at my parents until that night. We had a great time as always. Sunday (as you'll read on Melissa's blog) my mom, Michael, Melisa, Lucas and I headed out to the venue for their wedding ceremony and reception. It was so beautiful - I am seriously ecstatic for this wedding. It's going to be amazing! I can't believe I forgot to mention that last month Melissa asked me to be her Matron of Honor. Ofcourse I said yes. I was blown away that she would ask me to play such an important part in her day. The way she asked was adorable too. I'll post pictures as soon as I get home (I'm at the Keyes),  so you can see the ingenious way we were asked.  I've really loved hearing all the details, and talking about the bridal shower plans, as well as the wedding plans. It brings me back to my own planning process and what an exciting time it was in my life. Being the bride is such joyful experience. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I'm all for milking it for all its worth. I'm sure time will fly by so fast (it already is!) that the wedding will appear out of nowhere. I'm already dreaming of wedding disasters. I don't have a sitter for Lucas, my hair is not done, I forgot my dress....you know! It's funny, because I didn't even have this many "disaster" dreams leading up to my own wedding. All I can say is it's going to be a spectacular day and the whole family is looking forward to watching as Michael and Melissa become husband and wife. Even weirder?? Melissa Malatesta will become Melissa Terrano!! So strange that someone is going to take my maiden name. Especially because Melissa and I have been friends since we were 15 years old and my boyfriend cheated on me with her. Doesn't God have such a sense of humor? I love you Melissa and can't wait until you are "officially" my sister. Good time to come!

It's that time of year again....the time to celebrate my most favorite sisters birthday - and this year, she's turning the big 20!!!

Understanding My New Role, or is it Roll?? :)

Motherhood is taking me by storm. No, seriously, as though there weren't enough hours in the day when it was just me - I know have to share them with an energetic, growing, and VERY talkative 3 month old. I'm finding the days ending as quickly as they started, and making my way to the computer close to impossible. Not entirely though, I've made it today and will type for as long as my son will sit in his swing quietly - but the moment he flashes me one of his fantastic grins and begins talking to me - I will close my laptop, and give him every ounce of my attention. It's amazing how much Lucas is growing. Everyday I notice something different about him, The pile of infant clothes on the bed grows larger by the day as I realize what no longer fits him. I find myself having a moment of silence as I fold each item to put on top of the pile. Remembering when he first wore it, and each time after that. Sometimes I wish I weren't so sentimental - but I am, so I will embrace it. Lucas is so charming (just like his dad!). He is fiesty, funny, and very dramatic. I learned awhile ago to distinguish his sincere cries from his fake ones. I hear a lot more fake crying than sincere crying. He's a pro at crocodile tears and attempting to fool us all - but most of the time, in the middle of one of his tyrades he'll stop abruptly and burst out in the biggest smile. This, in turn, forces anyone sitting close by (just ask my mom) to roll in laughter. I know Trei is thinking professional baseball is in his future, but I'm thinking acting. Wouldn't you know it....while writing that last sentance (over 2 hours ago!) my son decided to put on the charm and off I went to play, feed, change, bathe and play some more. Now he is sound asleep and will be for the next hour or two. I will attempt to finish this post before organizing a little and maybe hanging a few pictures - which is long overdue.

Falling Behind....

I know, I know....I've been slacking. I promise an update tomorrow sometime. I have a busy morning, but have cleaned my home, and done all the laundry - so I should have some free time in the afternoon to catch everyone up on our life.

His Blessings are Overflowing!

I'm not sure I can express enough how ridiculously blessed I am. I have a husband who loves me, our son, makes me laugh, and  works hard to provide for our family. I have a beautiful son who fills me with an indescribable happiness every second of the day. I have a family whom I'm extremely close to, and I know without a doubt will be there for me the rest of my life. I have friends I can confide in who allow me to be me, and never let me down. I have a home, food for my tummy, security and protection. I serve an amazing God who pours out His blessings EVERY DAY. How could I ever look at my life, and see anything but great and wonderful things? I am so humbled to be surrounded by all of this. I apologize for my lack in updates. Can you believe I actually started this post on the 27th of February and am just now getting back to finish it?? It seems that everytime I sit down to share with my friends and family that something comes up and steals me from my computer. Right now Trei, my mom, and brother Kyle are watching a movie and Lucas is sleeping. Just the perfect time to finish what I started. I need to start off by reminding everyone that I keep an updated photo album on the Flickr site, and am very faithful about posting new pictures every 1-2 days. If you visit my blog and don't see a new post, look to the right and see if there are new pictures in the sidebar. If so, click on the link and check out what was updated.
