Lost are the days of long sleepy naps, and staying in one place. Lucas is growing so much. He is worlds different from the baby I brought home from the hospital over 6 months ago. Aside from the never-ending half-crawl/half-scoot, pulling himself up on things, he has 4 new teeth coming in (two have already cut), and has mastered the art of "arching in back" when he's pissed off. Oh no. The tantrums are just beginning. He is an active baby - and I don't say that loosely. Unless he's sleeping, he's moving. NON-STOP moving. At his 6 month appointment, the doctor told Trei (I wasn't able to make it, I had to work) that we were in for it. She was amazed at how active and mobile he was. Like I said in his 6 month letter, it's time for Trei and I to step up our game. We've already had a taste of what's to come. I also have to mention that he says "ma ma", "da da", and "ba ba", and knows what the first two mean. I was hesitent at first because I know babies will say those words more as noises than as a way to communicate - however, I really feel like he has associated who is who. It's really sweet. Especially when he's crying, and reaches for me while saying "ma ma" in his most pathetic tone. I love it. He just loves "talking" which fills our home with the most beautiful sound. I would rather listen to Lucas than anything else in the world. He has so much to say - I can only imagine what will come out of his mouth when he can say full sentances. At 6 months, he weight 17lbs, 12ozs and was 27" long. That's 50th percentile for weight, and 75th for height. It's hard tobelieve he's almost doubled in weight since birth. As a new parent, you hear about how quickly time passes - but you don't really understand until it begins happening to you. I'm trying to soak up as much of this time in his life because I know it won't be long.
