Yay, finally a new picture. I can't take the credit though. because this photo is courtesy of my dad, who, as you know from the previous post watched Lucas for 5 days while Trei and I were relaxing in San Diego. Hey, atleast someone in my blood line is taking pictures! I really need to get back on the bandwagon. I've been slacking, majorly. Lucas is 8.5 months old and just the sweetest little guy you've ever met. How could anyone deny that genuine and mischevious smile?? I can't. Well, our time away was sooooo nice. I'm so glad we were able to take a few days to reconnect and just be a couple again, not just mommy and daddy. We spend 3 amazing nights and 3 hot (but fun) days eating incredible food, looking at real estate downtown, going to a Padre's baseball game, seeing a movie, a little shopping, and a lot of holding hands, kissing, and remembering life before we were responsible parents. What a blessing it was to know that Lucas was in good hands and we could relax knowing our time together would be well spent. We arrived back to our home and spent one last evening together before I headed into the valley to pick up Lucas. Before heading back to Laguna though, I was able to spend a few pleasurable hours with some longtime girlfriends (and their husbands) over lunch to celebrate the moving of Grace and her husband to Ireland. We gabbed for hours, before the men were more than bored and shut us off :) Trei had to work that night, so I was on my own. Since I've been back, I've adjusted well to playing mommy again. Lucas is a high energy, active, and playful little boy. I know that my exhaustion is probably normal, and intensified by the fact that I'm currently growing another human being - which is energy zapping itself. However, I'm handling things well. Speaking of the other human being....I had my 13 week appointment today with the baby doctor. Lucas and I attended alone (Daddy had school), and we both got to hear the heartbeat for the first time!!!I was much more thrilled with this than Lucas. It was amazing. Even with #2, the sound is equally as beautiful. The appointment went well, and I'm scheduled to see my OB again and have the BIG ultrasound at 18 weeks (just 5 to go!) I cannot wait to find out whether Lucas is having a little brother or sister. My initial gut was I was having a boy....however, the last 2 weeks I've felt like it's a girl. I'll be more than thrilled either way, so let's see who's right (a majority of those who have guessed, think girl! we shall see!). Well, I really wish I could write more, but bed is calling my name. I have a few pictures to share from the past 2 weeks....and I'll get my butt in gear and post a few. Thanks for reading (if I even still have an audience), and look back for more posts soon!
Love, Me
