We are well into December. Christmas is just 2 weeks away, so there is no looking back. Christmas isn't the only important event on our family calendar.....Lucas turns ONE YEAR OLD in exactly one week. Oh, and have I mentioned that Trei made plans for our family to go to Reno before Christmas? Well, he did and we leave this coming Sunday. In fact Trei, Lucas and I only have 4 more days to enjoy our home, tree and decorations. Saturday morning we will pack up our car (suitcases, presents, stuff) and head up to my parents where we will spend the evening with my family celebrating Lucas's first birthday a few days early. We are going to have a nice dinner together, open his birthday gifts and let Lucas dig into a birthday cake. Sunday afternoon, we are getting dropped off at LAX to depart for Reno where we will be until Saturday the 22nd. We don't get back into LA until late on Saturday and we will go back to my parents where we will stay until the day after Christmas! So it basically means we will be away from our home for about 10 days (only to come back and spend some quality time with Trei's parents and sister for a few days here at our place!). So I' ve been working hard to get our Christmas shopping done, house cleaned, suitcases packed and ready for a busy December! I have a majority of the shopping done, but I still have quite a bit to do. I know it will all get done, but I'm still feeling the pressure of everything. We are really looking forward to going to Reno though. We plan on spending time with family, seeing some old friends, and take Lucas sledding! It should be a relaxing and enjoyable time away.
My parents took Lucas for the weekend so Trei and I could have some time together. Alone. They actually arrived in Newport to go to our 3d ultrasound. We had one while I was pregnant with Lucas and decided to splurge on the unnecessary ultrasound with our little girl too. Unfortunately, she hid behind her hands the entire time! It's funny because at every ultrasound she's had her hands in front of her face! We got a few glimpses of her sweet little face, but nothing very clear. She seems to look a lot like Lucas, but we were invited to go back tomorrow at noon - so hopefully we'll get some better shots of her face! I'll post the photos we receive tomorrow. Aside from our hidden princess, our weekend childless was absolutely perfect! We slept in on Sunday. Went out to breakfast, bowling, saw August Rush and had a great dinner at PF Changs. It was so nice to reconnect and do some fun activities without a baby. My parents were god sends because Lucas is a non-stop child and I know he kept them on their toes - but it wasn't without much appreciation on our part!
